I only think the public needs to know the REALLY important stories or things that happened. Like with the Sandusky case, the public needs to know about that, because he could still be a threat to the rest of the community. And he lives by the elementary school, which should be very illegal and he should have to move. But with some of the private things the public most deffinetly does not need to know about them. Journalist shouldnt be able to blackmail or lie about people either, but they do and they get away with it and they lie and make up stories. Which is not cool at all. You can tell the truth and still have a good story. Correct? Yes! But no one ever follows the rules and they can get away with whatever they want, because no one wants to mess with journalist, because they no they’ll just get trashed right back. I think Journalism is just one big mess! Yes you can take journalist to court for libel, but it is not an easy thing to prove, because maybe you think it hurt you, but thats just your own opinion what if no one else agrees with you? So your pretty much just screwd. I think that Journalist should actualyl for real only be able to tell newsworty stories, like about a huge disaster or a war or a creeper living next door not who cheated on who or joe somebody failed his math test, thats what a soap operas and chick flicks are for. No one wants to read that in the newspaper. Or if you’re going to put it in the newspaper then they should make a gossip section for the nosey women out there, Just sayin! All in all journalism is just a bad thing when you dont actually tell the real facts. Didn’t peoples mothers teach them that lying is a bad thing?
