Show Us The Real Picture

Photo shopping images can sometimes dramatically alter the way people react to the story that is being told. the example below is an altered picture for the cover of a magazine the original has Obama standing next to two other people and looking down at some equipment which is probably for cleaning the oil out of the water. The picture was cropped and got rid of the one in the black tee. then photo shopped to take out the woman and the equipment then darkened to make it seam more depressing and regretful, while the original photo makes him look like he is doing something about it and wants to help clean it up. f the original photo was put in the news paper instead of the photo shopped one the photo would probably have been just as powerful if not more powerful. it could be more powerful by sending out the message that the us wants to clean up its mess instead of just regretting the disaster, which is illustrated in the photo shopped picture. Both just as powerful but only one is the whole truth

Photographer Allan Detrich was fired for photo shopping an image he sent in to the news paper he worked for. When the paper was printed some one noticed that some one in the picture was missing both of their legs. Direction was turned to the photographer for photo shopping the picture in the first place. Allan admitted he photo shopped the image and got caught and is taking what ever he gets as a punishment. In this time of news and not telling lies in the paper if some one gets caught photo shopping a picture they are fired. Here is an article that has multiple accounts of people losing there job for photo shopping a picture that they have sent in to the magazine to be printed.
